Software Engineer

We are looking for engineers to be part of the core team and contribute to the product in a myriad of ways beyond coding. We want people who can ask the tough questions and challenge us. We want people who are not afraid to take ownership over an area and drive it forward.

• We are all about the ALT.NET movement. We believe in continuous improvement and choosing the right technology for the job. Most of our code today is in C#/.NET, so familiarity there is a big plus.
• We're using SubSonic, a Ruby on Rails ActiveRecord implementation on the .NET platform. Ideally, you understand the concepts behind ORM and have some familiarity with similar projects (LINQ, NHibernate, etc).
• Our platform is about building scalable APIs. If you have experience producing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs, or it's something you want to work with, let us know.
• We are using SQL Server 2005.
• Performance is critical for us, so we want to be extremely aggressive with caching. If you want to work with .NET caching, MS Velocity or have experience with things like memcached, that's a big plus for us.
• We're working on analyzing and extracting information from text. If you're interested in (or have some experience with) natural language processing, then we have some challenging leading-edge work for you.

We are looking for long term hire candidates, but want to start out with a contract-to-hire setup (3-5 months). Our offices are in downtown New York City (SoHo) and we are targeting to spend as much time as possible collaborating in person in our office -- but we are flexible and can work out specifics with individuals.

Business Development Intern

We are looking to bring on a business development intern who can help us grow the company. You will work on product development, business development and marketing. We want smart, entrepreneurial souls who will think out of the box, and learn on the job. Work hours are flexible.

This is a paid opportunity and has the potential to grow into a full-time role as an early employee in the company.
